A BRIEF HISTORY OF OKLAHOMA MUFON

First Organized:  No clear records have been uncovered but it is believed the group evolved in the late 1970’s.  There was a “group” that sometimes met at a Tulsa library.  

There were other groups, such as the OKC based International UFO Bureau IUFOB), launched by who were hosting conferences on the topic.  Other events discussed the topic or hosted speakers such as members for the ‘Midwest UFO Group’, spearheaded by Walter Andrus, out of Texas. This is the group out of which MUFON will develop. In the early 1980’s this group is making regular speaking tours into Oklahoma. The late 1970’s and 1980’s saw regular articles in Oklahoma newspaper. People had not forgotten the many earlier events in and over Oklahoma. In the early 1990’s the group was being recognized – if with slight tongue in cheek humor – in syndicated columns syndicated carried in Oklahoma newspapers.  

The world wide web was making an impact in the decade and in 1997 ads began appearing in some newspapers.  They were often labeled as “UFO Web Sites” and included information about the New Hampshire Mutual UFO Network, the UFO Director and Forum and UFO Folklore (all of which appear to now be defunct). BIO: Marilyn A. Hudson is a retired educator and library professional in public, school, and academic libraries.  Additionally, she is a published author and an active researcher into historical and sometimes arcane subject matter. She received a B.A. in History and an M.L.I.S. (Master in Library and Information Studies) from the University of Oklahoma.

Her published works related to the unexplained include: Sooner Saucers: 1947-1969, Oklahoma UFO’s; Sooner Saucers: Vol 2; UFO’s Over Oklahoma: A Short Guide to Route 66; 1947: Those Saucy Saucers; Encounter in Kansas; and Sunflower Saucers: Some Kansas UFO Accounts. She also has a blog dedicated to the topic UFO SKIES (https://ufoskies.blogspot.com/).

Becoming a Field Investigator with MUFON melds all these interests and professional experience together in a desire to contribute to the goals of the organization: “I. Investigate UFO sightings and collect the data in the MUFON Database for use by researchers worldwide. II. Promote research on UFOs to discover the true nature of the phenomenon, with an eye towards scientific breakthroughs, and improving life on our planet. III. Educate the public on the UFO phenomenon and its potential impact on society..”

Oklahoma MUFON Roles:  CFI , Advanced. Assistant State Director, State Director.       

BIO: Oklahoma MUFON bids farewell to Robert "Bob" Davis after several years of committed and vital leadership.  He stepped into the State Director position when William "Mike" Six was named one of the new Regional Directors for MUFON.

Bob was a dedicated Field Investigator and masterfully stepped into the leadership role. His vast experience and passion for exploring the unknown made him an invaluable asset to our team. He brought in new skills and trained to a high level of competency the certified field investigators with which he worked.  He was committed to bringing accessible and easy to use tools into investigations and introduced many of these to the betterment of the trainees and the final results.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and began his career as a production engineer with Philips Lighting. He later transitioned to a career spanning 39 years as an electrical engineer, designing hardware and writing software for various flight simulators. His engineering background has provided him with the analytical skills needed for investigating unexplained aerial phenomena.

Bob’s fascination with UFOs started in his childhood after reading The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects by Edward J. Ruppelt. As a teenager, his interest deepened with Chariots of the Gods by Erich Von Daniken. His approach to UFO investigation mirrors his engineering mindset—careful data collection, correlation, and teamwork are essential to uncovering the truth.

[2023-2024] William "Mike" Six 

Oklahoma Mufon/ MUFON roles: Regional Director, State Director, and Assistant State Director.  A certified field investigator and a MUFON STAR Team Member.  

BIO: William “Mike” Six was a native Oklahoman, born in Tulsa. He Joined the U.S. Marine Corps right after graduation from High School in 1971.  While in the military, he was assigned to the Fleet Marine Force where he served as a rotary wing (helicopter) Flight Engineer and Aerial observer and was assigned to a Marine Attack Helicopter Squadron.

Upon his return back stateside, Mike was selected for the “Platoon Leaders Class” and attended the University of Oklahoma where he studied Engineering and worked towards his goal to receive his commission as a Marine Corps officer.

During Mike’s sophomore Year at O.U., he elected to separate from the Marine Corp and entered into Law Enforcement with the City of Midwest City Police Department where he served as a Police Officer.

During his time as a Police Officer, he participated in the rescue and recovery efforts at the Murrah Building Bombing, the Star Elementary School fatal explosion, May 3rd ,1999 F-5 Tornado. Mike was instrumental in successfully implementing the Community Based Policing Program into his community.

While serving as a police officer, He earned his Degree in Criminal Justice & Police Science. Mike retired from the Police Department after nearly 30 years of service and is bringing with him all of his investigative experience, techniques and training to MUFON as a Field Investigator. 

He served as Assistant State Director and then State Director of Oklahoma MUFON before assuming the director role of one of several multi-state Regional Groups within MUFON.  Mike was a strong supporter of his team.  His vast experiences made him an outstanding leader and a friend to many.

William "Mike" Michael Six, born on July 3, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 71. He was a resident of The Village, Oklahoma. A committal service with Military Honors took place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on December 9, 2025.

[ca 1994 ] Richard Seifried, wife Jean Seifried. Co-Directors.  Jean was noted in a newspaper article as “director of investigations.”   They alleged the University of Oklahoma created a chilling climate for honest discussion or study of the phenomena (1994). Richard Seifriend claimed to have a masters in education and had taught at the University of Arkansas as well as other locations but when he came to Norman, Oklahoma around 1990 he offered to conduct a classing the school’s continuing education program but was denied. 

[1978] Jean Waller was identified as the Oklahoma regional representative of NICAP (National Investigation Committee of Aerial Phenomena).

CRISEL, CHARLES H ,MSG (US ARMY, Retired)  | 1948 - 2024  / MSG (Retired) Charles H. Crisel (April 30, 1948 - December 9, 2024)  /MSG (Retired) Charles H. Crisel, 76, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024. Born on April 30, 1948, in Cushing, Oklahoma, he was the son of Raymond and Mary (Carpenter) Crisel.

Charles graduated from Cushing High School in 1966 and began a distinguished military career in the United States Army in 1967. He served his country with honor for 24 years, retiring in 1991 at the rank of Master Sergeant. His dedicated service earned him numerous awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal w/Service Star, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal-8 and the Humanitarian Service Medal-Cuban. Charles also served during the Vietnam War, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation with Palm.

Following his military retirement, Charles continued his commitment to service as a civil servant on Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from 1991 until 2007 retiring as the Freight Branch Supervisor.

He was also involved with MUFON.  Mindi Tautfest, past state director of Oklahoma MUFON had this to say: “…Charles Crisel passed away this week. He was a long time FI here in Oklahoma and my first partner in MUFON…I will miss our investigation road trips and deep talks. You were the best!”

RESPONSES TO RELEASED FILES

 A survey of previous postings will demonstrate how my years of research verified the tactics of distraction, bait and switch, and band stand propaganda have driven every government group "researching" the topic.  Ever civilian organization has been infiltrated by individuals who serve as the small foxes gnawing the vines.  They drive in wedges of fear, distractions and paranoia. From NICAP to [fill in the blank organization].

The pages and files are filled with ways the researchers falsely labeled sightings, held back information, and then lumped them all together to support the narrative.

Despite the release of films and images that have been labeled as unidentified by DOW and other elements of the government, there are Monday Morning Quarterbacks who - oh how amazing! - they find what all those experts do not?  Old game tactic, dismiss your trainer radar technicians, trained weather observers, and trained everyone else to carry across the agenda that they were mistaken!  What is the ethics of blaming trained individuals already tasked with vital national security work and label them - publicly - as incompetents?

Truth...the rarest commodity in the world.

MISSING AND DECEASED SCIENCE WORKERS (Updated, Updated)

 This list has been expanded now (4/24/2026) to include several new names. 

Note the interesting cluster of dates for many of these events.

Note also the odd spike and grouping for 2025; think back on what was happening then in the overall UAP movement. Consider the following:

2021: The Department of Defense confirmed that AARO's cumulative UAP report intake surpassed 2,000 cases amid ongoing congressional oversight. 

2022: The House Intelligence subcommittee held the first public UAP hearing since 1969, with new footage shown. 

2023: The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was established within the Department of Defense, with a mandate broader than any previous program. 

2024: NASA released its independent UAP study report, calling for more rigorous data collection and a scientific framework for analyzing aerial anomalies. 

2025: The Trump administration issued a directive ordering the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies to identify and release UAP-related classified files within 90 days. 

These events reflect the ongoing efforts to address UAPs and the increasing public awareness and scrutiny surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena.

DISCLOSURE: "IMMINENT" From a Distance

 

Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFOs (Luis Elizondo (Author, Narrator), Christopher Mellon (Narrator), William Morrow (Publisher))

Sometimes the best way to review the importance and impact of a book is from a distance.  In the moment, the news and facts are fluid, shifting, and still undecided. The truth is often engaged in a pugilistic battle with a no-holds barred street fighter willing to fight dirty, to lie, and to cheat.

In the moment and the moments following such a battle - minds are clouded, tempers high, thoughts biased or tied up by bonds of conditioned or manipulated thinking. Logic flees, emotions surge, and truth hides under the blankets.

Once the dust settles, once the written official statements are available for public review, once the video is a matter of public record, once the emotions simmer to a more rational level, then the true import of a document, a statement, a fact, can - finally - be clearly found.

This is the case with this work by Elizondo.  The old guard - labeled the Legacy Group - are committed to lies, secrets, and keeping everyone (congress and the people) in the dark on a subject recorded around the globe since, at least, the 1940's.  The New Guys - those who are deeply committed to truth, justice, and the American way (yes, these people need to be wearing capes as they are true American heroes) - and believe that the People and the Congress need to know the truth so it can be studied, investigated, and adequately and appropriately responded to an issue of global import.

Elizondo shares everything from his relationship to family, friends, and his commitment to his country and its laws.  He gives clear framework for the chronology of the events, the cause and reactions that resulted, and the building of a new era of serious, scholarly, and intentional study and investigations into unidentified - and unexplainable - objects and events.

Read this work with a marker handy, take notes, find links and watch the Congressional moments, understand the spider like web that big government can create to trap truth seekers and lock in secrets that should not be secret.  Notice the tactics of lies, threats, and more and compare to the recorded history of those tactics since the 1940's.  

Reading it with the ability to read the full documents, to review the news articles, and to evaluate the scope of events - and the reactions - is - from a distance - fascinating and eye-opening.

IS EASTER 2026 "D-DAY"? ": UAPS AND TRANSITIONS

This Sunday marks Easter 2026.

This is the time when the rubber meets the road. The various theories are often complex and confusing. Is the event the long prophesied coming return of the Christ? Is it a shift from one level of consciousness to another? Is nudge into a new timeline? Is it the moment of disclosure that we are not alone as intelligent beings in the cosmos? The mingling of spiritual with scientific disturbs many.

Some view it through a single religious lens of a denominational or specific belief system. Others blend many such systems together in a syncretic designer metaphysics approach.

Will we be at peace - in our souls - for a divine encounter? Will we be giddy with excitement at the fulfilment of our dreams?

Will we be "Roy" gazing at awe at the descending UFO and occupants in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" or the glassy eyed dreamer atop the skyscraper holding aloft a sign of welcome as the vivid blue light shoots down from the UFO, seconds before annihilation?

Sunday will be - interesting - in many ways this year.

DISCLOSURE OR DISTRACTION? The Clock is Ticking

 The recent actions for the US President for the release of documents related to UAPs/UFOs has people on edge.  Not from fear this will happen but rather in fear it is , once more, just a red herring used to tease and tantalize the public wanting the truth.

Former President Barack Obama admitted that yes aliens are real but no, he had not seen any himself.  This was immediately dragged back the next day with an "oops!".  Some outlets even attempted to claim he had not really said that.  The truth remains that he did say it.

LESSONS FROM A PASSERBY: AI ATLAS COMET AND UFOS; Is it real or maybe make believe?

Today the interstellar visitor, Ai- Atlas Comet is closest to the Earth's Sun.

For months, videos, articles, podcasts, and reels have been buzzing with ideas of what the strange object "really" was.  Some portrayed the visitor as a horrible advancing alien attack force, some as an ancient relic of a long deep culture now in an endless loop through the cosmos.  Still others, freely manipulated data, images, and personalities to present - for some unknown reason to date - chilling, frightening, and conflicting opinions. 

Stepping back to look at the furor, brings some things into clear perspective. The panorama of social media are both comedic and terrifying. 

Yeats wrote in his poem about history, The Second Coming, these most evocative words - "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;  Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity...." [emphasis added]

It is apparent the globe is currently in that time of "things falling apart".  

Once traveling the wilderness of the old west, I happened upon a bleached and ancient wooden wagon wheel.  It' hub cracked and rotted away, the spokes broken and splintered.  In my mind I could envision the fracture of that crucial central hub that held the wagon together and allowed it to roll onward mile after mile. Once it, or one of the spokes was compromised, the result was inevitable.  The center could no longer support the weight and action of the wheel. It collapsed and broke apart. 

Surveying some of the sources commenting about the strange visitor, and viewing some of the images, reveals more about the occupants of planet Earth than anything about any potential aliens. 

First, it is clear that it is very simple for undocumented, unsourced, and unvetted stories and videos to flood social media as alleged news.

Second, it is very easy for these stories to manipulate public thinking.

Third, this manipulation is the produce of several factors: a) a lack of authoritative trusted news sources, b) a low level of critical thinking skills among all levels of society, b) an absence of strong information literacy skills across all levels of society, c) multiple voices heard without discrimination and being perceived as having equal quality or value ("The Age of the Amateur" from  Jean M Twenge's, Generation Me - Revised and Updated: Why Today's Young Americans Are More Confident, Assertive, Entitled--and More Miserable Than Ever Before)

Fourth, it is increasingly simple for artificial intelligence to mimic images and audio to duplicate authoritative persons (government leaders, scientists, and others) and thereby potentially control the narrative of any event, generate fear and anxiety, create false divisions and controversy.  The level of reality in current technology is the stuff of horror films.

Fifth, the voices emerging via comments are also interesting.  They appear to fall into some distinct groups that are largely vague in definition, leadership, or guiding beliefs. 

 (a) a wide, diverse voice expressing a broad spectrum religious-spiritual-metaphysical message. Ultra conservative traditional views to the most extreme mystical beliefs.  Comments range from "The Lord is coming back", "Consciousness is shifting", "New frequencies are in process," "I believe..." and others.

(b) a wide and diverse voice expressing deeply held beliefs in alleged programs, conspiracy theories, and alternative concepts such as "Project Blue Beam", a Fake Moon Landing, and a Flat Earth.

(c) a die-hard response of all things seen or heard are the product of our own (government and military) secret projects, or projects of some clandestine agency, and similar assertions.  These tend to use a similar rhetoric as that used in the 1940s through the 1960's.  Sometimes tweaked to update them but always similar in being so secret no proof can be found and what is found is always taken at face value despite its lack of historical context or additional evidence. 

Sixth, a widespread lack of basic science, nature, mathematics, and environmental realities exists.  Society is increasingly tunnel visioned to the actions of a digital display. Social face-to-face interactions are disappearing, conversational skills, listening skills, comprehension skills, and emotional intelligence skills are decaying.  This results in believing everything seen, said, and argued.  Everything. No filters, no balance, no evaluations, and no standards of measurement.  This does not bode well.

All of these set against the backdrop of a push for disclosure, punctuated with international and national conflict and unrest, and a steady dollop of distraction in every form and shape.  

The bottom line seems to be someone - or some group - is playing fast and loose with human minds about the very nature of reality.  The center is cracked, the spokes of the wheel are crumbling...

Things fall apart...our challenge may be...can we put it back together again?
