BEFORE G.A.T.E: Tantalizing Questions

 All over the world people from the 1970's through the 1990's recall being tested and taken from classes for tests, hearing tests, ink blot tests, and often a "pink drink."  Some recall men or women in suits administering these tests. Others, just remember the episodes only vaguely.

These were not regular hearing tests, but something some students were pulled from class to participate in and had no bearing on disabilities or challenges, intelligence levels or behavioral problems. They seemed focused on something else.

There is also a hint that similar, first-generation tests might have been used in the 1960's as well.  As part of my ongoing research, I have heard from several people who were in schools in the early 1960's (1960 - 1968) and slivers of memory very similar.

A memory of being taken from the class, into a small office or empty class, where cards (similar to ink blots) were given. A place where ESP test type cards were used or/and where hearing tests were given with metal banded earphones and large reel-to-reel tape players or a record turntable, and similar short tests or questions.  Sometimes projectors were used but showing only odd or grainy images. Usually, a stranger was the one giving these tests or administering the situation.  No familiar faces.

An emerging trend in all these situations (from the 1960's and forward) are the large numbers of students whose parents worked for the government - either as military members or working for some sub-contracted agency or service (aerospace, USPS, etc.)

Through the National Education Act of 1958, schools could get funds my reporting how many students they had fit that profile. Cards were sent home and parents had to complete them and send them back.  There were many "strings" to getting and using those federal dollars. A loyalty card reflected the lingering fears of the McCarthy Era (now merging with a fear of the Soviets).  As well, this testing activity happened right in the middle of the growing 'Military-Industrial" complex that exiting President Eisenhower warned about.

Secrets, tests, MK-Ultra, research into mind development, intelligence building and more were the hot ticket of the day. The UFO issue. The space race, the Cold War, and so much more....

The question is, did these events use children of government workers to provide a ready-made testing pool - easily regulated and monitored - for research into brain extrasensory powers, hidden skills, and developing intelligence?

UAP SORTIES OVER MISSILE SILOS/MILITARY SITES

15 July 1960. Wewak, South Australia. A confidential two-page report details sightings on 15 July 1960 of an unidentified flying object (UFO) near Wewak, a nuclear weapons testing range some 24 kilometers from Maralinga Village, South Australia.  Explanations offered ranged from aircraft to balloons to St. Elmo's Fire. The report was written on 24 July 1960 by security officer JJA Hanlon, and originally formed part of a Department of Supply file on the Weapons Research Establishment (WRE) in South Australia. 7 August 1962, Near Tuscan, Arizona.  Approx. date. A brilliant glowing object observed over a Titan missile site. Night crew while outside the complex spotted the light that began to grow larger. He realized the object was descending right over the site.  Davis-Matheson AB was notified and jets flew over.  As they two jets approached the object (or objects) left disappearing in mere moments as they sped off. The jets circled and then headed back to Tuscan.  Then the "visitor" was back and came close enough witnesses said the bottom was similar to the color of the moon in the night sky.  Shortly after it was seen to ascend rapidly and disappear into the sky.

1964. Altus, Oklahoma. Missile Silo # 6 south of Altus AFB. Crews reported seeing a bright white orb or light over Missile Silo #6 - lighting up the entire area of the silo - and hover for a period of time. Reported to CO but by the time a secondary witness reached topside to see - the object was just a very bright light disappearing into the distance.

March 1967, Malstrom AFB. UFO reports over a missile complex occurred during a routine malfunction. Several incidents were recorded during this era. March 5, 1967, Minot AFB, ND. Air Defense Command radar tracked an unidentified target descending over the Minuteman missile silos of the 91st Strategic Missile Wing at Minot AFB, ND. Base security teams quickly converged on the area and saw a metallic, disc-shaped craft ringed with bright, flashing lights moving slowly. The disc stopped and hovered about 500 feet (150 meters) off the ground, as security police held their fire and watched in awe

October 24, 1968, Minot Air force Base.   Project Blue Book  report about missile crews, control personnel and maintenance personnel observed a UFO in the vicinity of the base.

27-28 October 1975, Loring Air Force Base, Maine. Staff Sgt. Danny K. Lewis, 42nd Security Police Squadron, while on duty at the munition's storage area of Loring AFB, Maine, at 7:45 p.m. saw an apparent aircraft at low altitude along the northern perimeter of the base. Reportedly the craft began to circle in the vicinity of the nuclear weapons storage area at about 150 feet altitude. Lewis reported the event to command when it penetrated the nuclear weapons storage area at an estimated 300 feet altitude.

December 1980, Brentwaters AFB, England.  "The Rendlesham Forest incident " was a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights near Rendlesham Forest , adjunct to Brentwaters, in Suffolk, England. Witnessed objects and alleged "messages" conveyed to military personnel.

November 2004, the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, Pacific, off coast of California.  The Group encountered unprecedented aerial phenomena off the coast of San Diego.  Commander David Fravor and his F/A-18F Super Hornet squadron witnessed an unidentified craft.  This object was later dubbed the “Tic Tac” object.  It demonstrated atypical flight characteristics that defied conventional aerodynamic principles and exceeded known technological capabilities. 

Other early sources indicate that similar events were being reported from Australia, France, Germany, Russia, and numerous other countries. 

Given the nature of the facilities and the tendency for PBB and the military to put a lid on any such events, there are numerous other instances of UAPs showing up over a facility dealing with energy or power generation, missile/nuclear weapons storage facilities, and their associated military bases.

In my research and work with experiencers, I have noted the large number of people who were a) children of military parent and lived on or near a military base, and 2) children of people working in the more classified aspects of government contract work (i.e., Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, etc.) or medical or scientific work.  More research into this area should be conducted to explore if the higher number of experiencers is a clear pattern.

ALIENS BEFORE ROSWELL

In recent news, has been stories of the "3 fingered" alien mummies found in Peru. Claims of an alien presence with possible proof is a mind-shattering idea for many.  Most assume the "alien" presence is something that emerged in the 1980's with "ET" attempting to just phone home. Anything earlier is the product of "Buck Rogers" and cinematic menaces from other worlds.

So, when I ran across this 1947 case, I was intrigued. 

Feb. 28, 1947; 6 miles south of Lima, Peru. Time not given. While driving C.A.V., witness observed a sand-colored & very shiny disc-shaped object hovering 6-7 feet off the ground. Three figures emerged from it. They looked like mummies. They had a humanoid profile, but their legs were fused together. The hands looked like fingers in mittens, and they had an opposable thumb. The skin was sand-colored, & they had no facial features. There was a transparent area where the eyes should have been.

Hmm...Kenneth Arnold will not see the objects that get coined as "flying saucers" for another four months. The "Roswell Incident" will not happen for another five months.

It is clear in reading the documents of early Air Force files for Project Sign, Grudge, and Blue Book that there was some tension among officials. It had successfully been kept "low key" but small newspapers leaked sightings of people seeing "whatchamacallits", "whirly gigs", and several other labels. All were laughed off with suggestions of drink, visits to eye doctors, and vivid imaginations. Yet, they were being seen in early 1947. Not just in the USA either.

Next examples - 

Aug. (late) 1946; Oklahoma City, OK. Disc-shaped craft with windows, humanoid figures visible inside, hovered at low altitude. After about 1-1/2 minutes the object rotated, then sped away disappearing in seconds.  (Ref. 3; Case summary by Ted Bloecher, 14 pages. Interviews by Bloecher, Lucius Farish, and Mildred Higgins.)

June 8 (??), 1947; 20 mi S. of Maltaw. NICAP File: Evening. Fishermen Pawlu Zammit and others on a boat 20 miles south of Malta were raising their nets with a catch of fish when they saw an object floating on the water's surface that looked like a black submarine. The fishermen were frightened because they thought it looked more like a monster than a submarine, so they quickly pulled in their nets and started the boat's engine. At that moment a bright light from the "submarine" lit up the whole area and "little men" began running over the deck of the object. The fishermen couldn't make out much detail from their boat, but whenever the light illuminated the "little men," they could see some sort of apparatus around their waist. When the witness was asked how tall these men were, he replied, "About the size of a 10-year-old boy." After a few minutes, the "little men" entered the "submarine" which began to glow so brightly that the fishermen couldn't see the object. It then submerged.

June 19, 1947; Webster, Mass. NICAP File: One of the earliest cases of humanoid reports appeared about two weeks later in....Worchester paper -- possibly the Telegram. An older, unidentified, woman saw an occupant inside an object who looked like "a Navy officer."

June 24, 1947; near Pendleton Oregon.  NICAP file: Afternoon. A man driving down a remote rural road heard a loud humming sound and driving over a rise, he saw on a nearby field, a large disc shaped craft hovering six-feet off the ground. He could also see two short figures wearing green suits and white helmets standing right underneath the object. The figures suddenly vanished and the craft then shot towards the Columbia River, made a big circle then flew towards the mountains. (HC addition # 728. Source: Bob Gribble, Mufon UFO Journal # 290, Type: C) [Comments: Interesting report that occurred on the same day of the Arnold encounter. Also notable is the clothing description of the little men, which was said to have been green, not the little men themselves.]

Small occupants...size of a ten year old child...all in 1947. Definitely to be filed under the heading of things that make you go "Hmmmm."
