In 1950 a 12 Part Serial Entertained at the Theater: "Flying Disc Man From Mars" (1950)

The multi-part serials were always a delight. Bad dialogue, bad acting, but lots of hammy action were guaranteed. In 1950-1952 theaters had this one advertised. A Republic Pictures 12-part serial, of a hero who learns of plans of Martians to take over the world and he must single-handedly stop them! 

Dr. J. Allen Hynek noted in his book The Hynek UFO Report that by the early 1950's when discussions of minimizing the whole "flying saucer" subject included asking Walt Disney or some other cartoonist producer to be enlisted to aid in creating "debunking" themed features or shorts. Disney because in WW2 that production company had been utilized to create dozens of propaganda films for the military and the U.S. Government.   

Additionally, there is a claimed gag project used by the military during and after the war years that may lack clear documentary evidence in all facets of their claim has enough anecdotal evidence to provide some convincing arguments.
